Chef de Partie – Georgetown, Penang

Company Overview

This Thai cuisine restaurant is a premier dining establishment, created in collaboration with an internationally acclaimed chef who has achieved remarkable success, including earning a Michelin Star and securing top rankings in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. The restaurant is pork-free but serves alcohol.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Asian dishes, including but not limited to Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisines.
  • Oversee a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and refine menu offerings.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, including Commis Chefs, in Asian cooking techniques.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
  • Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering of specialty Asian ingredients and supplies.
  • Contribute to the creative development of new dishes and seasonal menus.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum 1 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a restaurant specializing in Asian cuisine.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Asian cooking techniques and flavour profiles.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Passion for Thai cuisine and a willingness to innovate.
  • Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese (added advantage)
  • Willing to work in Georgetown, Penang.
