Purchasing Executive – Port Klang, Selangor

Company Overview

The company, from humble beginnings in 1985 as a small stall in a morning market, has grown into a fresh produce importer and retailer, operating a wholesale market in Klang with a diverse range of products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
  • Regularly visit the warehouse to inspect received items for damage, discrepancies, and quality.
  • Ensure that all received goods meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.
  • Document and report any issues or discrepancies to the relevant departments.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Address supplier issues and resolve any disputes in a timely manner.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a SPM.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing or procurement. Fresh Grads with good attitude will also be considered.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (added advantage).
  • Willing to work in Pandamaran, Port Klang.
  • Standard 5 working days (Monday – Friday).
