Company Overview
The company, from humble beginnings in 1985 as a small stall in a morning market, has grown into a fresh produce importer and retailer, operating a wholesale market in Klang with a diverse range of products.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Obtain quotes and negotiate terms and conditions.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Regularly visit the warehouse to inspect received items for damage, discrepancies, and quality.
- Ensure that all received goods meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.
- Document and report any issues or discrepancies to the relevant departments.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Address supplier issues and resolve any disputes in a timely manner.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a SPM.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing or procurement. Fresh Grads with good attitude will also be considered.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (added advantage).
- Willing to work in Pandamaran, Port Klang.
- Standard 5 working days (Monday – Friday).
