Responsibilities
- Assist Finance Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
- Review Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial closing.
- Provide variance analysis (budget vs actual) and explanations.
- Supervise daily accounting functions (AP, AR, GL, cashbook).
- Ensure proper recording of all financial transactions.
- Review journal entries and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (MFRS / IFRS if applicable).
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
- Support budget preparation and control process.
- Monitor company expenses and highlight cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure sufficient cash position for operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Strengthen internal control systems to reduce financial risk.
- Ensure tax and statutory compliance.
- Supervise accounting staff (executives / clerks).
- Review work quality and ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide guidance and training to junior finance staff.
- Coordinate with other departments (HR, Sales, Operations, Procurement).
- Prepare financial data and reports for management decision-making.
- Support Finance Manager in strategic planning and cost control initiatives.
- Participate in system improvement (ERP/accounting software enhancement).
- Provide financial insights for business performance improvement.
- Improve accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Support automation and digitalization of finance processes.
- Assist in ERP system maintenance and data integrity.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA / MIA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 6 years of working experience in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proficient in accounting software/ERP systems, with sound knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and Malaysian statutory and tax compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, meticulous, and able to work independently and manage a team under tight deadlines.
- Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin.
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm; Saturday (alternate), 9.00am to 1.00pm.
- Willing to work in Kapar, Selangor.
