About the Company

The company is a boutique advisory firm operating at the frontier of financial services, payments, and digital assets. It helps clients across Asia and China to secure overseas financial licences and acquire regulated entities, acting as their outsourced legal and compliance partner across multiple jurisdictions and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end regulatory licensing projects, including new license applications, renewals, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Assist in M&A transactions involving licensed entities (buy-side and sell-side).
  • Liaise with regulators and authorities across multiple jurisdictions to support timely approvals.
  • Coordinate with key external and internal stakeholders, including local auditors and accounting firms, consultants and law firms, and clients' compliance, legal, and management teams.
  • Track licensing timelines, obligations, and regulatory deadlines; maintain accurate records.
  • Advise clients on licensing requirements, regulatory processes, and compliance expectations.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant legal and regulatory developments.
  • Research corporate governance and compliance matters relevant to client structures.
  • Identify and coordinate suitable third-party service providers for licensing projects.
  • Support ad-hoc legal, compliance, or regulatory tasks as required by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles.
  • Exposure to AML/CTF, KYC, risk management, or regulatory compliance is preferred.
  • Strong coordination and project management skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; strong research and drafting ability.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (to support European and Chinese-speaking clients).
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across time zones.
  • Tech-savvy and organized.
  • Genuine interest in financial services, payments, and the fintech industry.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 7.30pm.
  • Willing to work in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
