About the Company
The company is a Malaysian business established in 1986, originally a photo printing specialist with more than 65 branches at its peak. Today it also runs dobiQueen, a tech-driven self-service laundromat chain with around 90 outlets nationwide, IoT-connected machines, its own mobile app and laundry pickup and delivery services.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 4 to 5 Area Managers, each overseeing 20 to 30 outlets, and make sure they deliver on their responsibilities.
- Ensure every outlet meets the company's standards for service quality and cleanliness.
- Keep a sharp eye on outlets that are deteriorating, go to the ground, carry out root cause analysis and fix the problem.
- Identify what makes top-performing outlets succeed and pass the winning formula to the training team to update the training syllabus.
- Solve abnormal problems that fall outside standard operating procedures (SOPs) independently, using the company's guiding principles, then work out the step-by-step solution and coach the team to carry it out.
- Keep tight control of cost of goods sold (COGS) and make sure there is no misuse or wastage of materials.
- Rally the team to pursue each quarter's focus areas and deliver on them.
- Set and track KPIs for outlets and Area Managers, and take the necessary action when performance is not up to standard.
- Work with the maintenance and training teams to resolve customer and machine issues quickly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of operations experience, including at least 3 years managing multi-outlet or multi-site operations (e.g. retail, F&B, convenience store or service chains).
- A hands-on leader who is comfortable on the ground, visiting outlets and solving problems on the spot.
- Adaptable and resourceful, able to handle situations that are not covered by a manual and stay calm and confident under pressure.
- Strong ownership mindset and sound judgement, able to make decisions within guiding principles
- Able to read outlet performance data and find the root cause of problems.
- Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm.
- Willing to work in Batu Caves, Selangor.
- Willing to travel to outlets.
